Life wasn't really all that hard with the Blue Army. As a homicide detective you were considered to be the cream of the pie. The wage was reasonable but the reimbursement of expenses....ha! That's when your job really starts to pay off.

Pay off in doing what? The moment an investigation began to lead to the higher echelons of society you were taken off the case. The less questions you asked the better. It didn't take that long for me to realize that covering up the dirt seemed to be more important then unraveling the truth.

I told the office I always wanted to have a business of my own. They didn't look all that surprised... A couple of my former colleagues with the squad however know of my new line of work. And they're as much disgusted as me with the way things are. Their discrete "assistance" proved to be a very valuable tool for me.
