WARNING! Accuse with less than 3 stars of Evidence at your own Risk!

Some corner cutters amongst you had discovered some safe ways to accuse suspects without first gathering 3 stars of evidence.

In sticking with the original intent of the game (not to mention our hitherto faultless game documentation), it is no longer safe to ever accuse with only 1 or 2 stars.

Good luck out there...

and Happy Sleuthing.

I recently had a case where there was nothing left to ask and the guilty party only had 1 star. I even went to the extent of using up all my coercion options to try to get other evidence and finally just had to try it.

Thankfully the game allowed it and she was convicted.

I hope that such a thing does not occur again. That case was poorly assembled and I would hate to lose a case because the evidence was not available.

Hmmm, very sneaky... good job i always try for those 3 stars anyway!

3 suspects all with Fake alibi's and 3 pieces of evidence (one piece of matching evidence for each suspect) totally reliant now on witness evidence....good job i didn't need that Necromancy skill in the end.

Be carfeul folks.... i think everyone needs to tread very warily ;)

Claire,

The evidence is out there, but it is possible you ran out of coercion options before finding it all.

There are a couple of pieces of advice that will help you get through those sleuth growing pains:

1) If you are stuck and can't be 100\% sure of an accusation: quit the case. Quits have no adverse affect on your record, other than a bit of lost pride. FA's are very bad.

2) If that happens often, you need to go back and work on some easier case levels for awhile until your detective is more advanced or you are more efficient at solving cases.

Good luck.

Are you going to get rid of the achievements for accusing on less then 3 stars?
Or is the F/A going to be the penalty for getting those achievements?

oh, shoot, does that mean that I am not going to get away with one-star evidence and a suspect without alibi anymore? I always thought it was my extraordinary power of deduction, and now I see it perhaps was just a looooong streak of luck ;-))

Accusing safely on less than three stars is still possible Kitty, you may get a case with 3 lipstick smudges in the crime scene and only one woman suspect with fake alibi.

I don't like having 3 suspects, all with 1 or 2 stars and fake alibis. I especially don't like it when I've used all my manipulations(which I have more than some of the most experienced players), bribed everyone and used all my gifts and still have no one with 3 stars.

I think this rule change is a bit too harsh, at least for cases SH and harder cases anyway.
