Multi-Sleuth Showdowns now open to all Sleuths!

Sleuth Admin
Sleuth Admin

Up until now, there has been a restriction that only paying subscribers were able to participate in Multi-Sleuth Showdowns.

In order to encourage broader participation in the Showdowns, we've decided to open up participation to unsubscribed players as well.

Multi-Sleuth cases tend to be quite hard, so it is not suggested that you enter one unless you have reached at least 1000 experience.

You can access the Showdown Lobby from the Community section.

Showdowns occur every hour, on the hour, except for midnight server time (US Mountain Time GMT-7).

* Also * Keep your eyes open for special admin sponsored Showdown events. Secret_Squirrel and I will be hosting Showdowns with SPECIAL PRIZES, including a few items that aren't attainable anywhere else in the game!

This is a bug, it's certainly not happening 'all' the time, but often enough for it to be annoying. We'd probably see it a lot more if Showdowns were being used to the max.

Ben is currently looking into this.

We apologise for the inconvenience.

How exactly do these showdowns work? And where can I access them? I'm curious...

@Kivaas:

When you clicked on Community, you'll see:

Sleuth Showdown!

Take on other sleuths in a multiplayer showdown, or just talk a good game in the live chat room.

Click on "Sleuth Showdown Lobby".

Then you'll enter the showdown lobby, then you can click on "Join Showdown" to join.

OK, I'll try to go for the next one. Do showdowns count for my 4-case-per-day-limit? Or is that in fact extra cases I do? And do I also get experience points for them or not?

Yes, showdowns count for daily limit; they are rewarded with exp. points, just like other cases. When you're the winner, you get 1 or more challenge points (depending on number of competitors)...

I just tried - unfortunately the 4-case-limit also applies here. So I can't do it today.

What is the difference between Showdown score and experience points?

Showdown score is just that a 'score' it ranks you against the other players in the showdown. On top of that you also get your normal XP (and where applicable, skill point) and money when you finish a case, and if you win the the showdown a 'challenge point' which can go towards buying certain items in the game.

tnx, I just tried. Actually earned XP, but no challenge point this time... unfortunately I was not the fastest to solve the case (actually it was my first SH, anyway, although I have no access to SH normally), but I did actually solve the case. And I did not notice any difference to IH...

Whoohoo, I made it! Finally one step towards a coat...

I saw a reminder about the next Multisleuth Showdown. I've tried it the first time today, thanks to this announcement. ^^
