Suggestion Box

Like is says: a Suggestion Box.

[be polite, I meant GAME suggestions!]

That's not to say we haven't got lots of ideas for things in the pipelines, but I'm sure there are lots of players out there who have lots of ideas about how to make the game a better / more interesting one, and we're always interested to hear what those ideas are.

Especially if they're explained clearly and constructively. :)

Who knows maybe you'll see an idea of yours up in lights :)

@Mercey:

The pm is between me and TJ and whatever I said, it points to TJ and not any other peoples, I hope you don't misunderstand. And as you know, there's a limited number of characters that each post can contain, that's why I break it into smaller portion.

And those are the full content of the PMs.

Like your use of you suggesting (not instructing). I implied your involvement not accused (yet you admitted to it)

As for the rest of missing PM (which I never received may have been attempted after I blocked further)

Just an odd coincidence??? At first you tried to excuse some of the action. Then admitted you suggested it. Then later in a post act surprised your suggestion was being used.

Not all can be a coincidence

Good it is all aired out. I find no further need to reply to this.

As my name and the name of my agency has been mentioned in this dispute, I feel obliged to say a word or two. Those who know me from Noir know that I've never been a topic of public discussion, and I intend to keep it that way. Also I consider making the text of private messages public bad taste, to say the least. There's a reason why they are called private.

First of all, I didn't even know what "blocking" or "jumping" hunts meant until I saw this thread and asked Joseph about it. To prevent another agency from starting a hunt just to prevent them getting more fame is in my opinion absolutely dishonest. On the other hand, hunts were created to be challenged, at least that is so at Noir, and I have nothing against another agency to start the same hunt, as those who offered me help with my hunts can confirm, as I told them so.

There are some untruths in Joseph's PMs and I want to make that clear. I don't know if there is a rule in SOM about how many detectives a player is allowed to have in an agency that participates in treasure hunts, as there is in Noir. If there is, I'd like Ben to say so publicly as he did in Noir. What this game lacks are written rules about what is allowed and what's forbidden. I have two detectives, Bessie Smith and Ninianne, and Horton Smith belongs to my husband, but he plays only occasionally these days, so I can say that Horton is actually my third detective. If this is considered against the rules (written or unwritten), I'd like to be told so. I read all the rules about THs and agencies, and couldn't find anything about it. Nevertheless, if the majority of players think it's against the rules, one of those detectives will leave the agency immediately.

At the end of my long "oration", I'd like all of us to remember that this is a game, and that it's about having fun, not bickering with each other over trifles, always abiding by the rules of fair play.

1) Joseph has never given myself or anyone from Ivory Fox instructions or made any suggestions. And if he had I wouldn't have paid attention to them as I prefer to discover things about the game for myself.

2) Yes, Ivory Fox has 'indulged' in some hunt-blocking.

I learned about hunt blocking by watching other agencies - not by anyone telling me about it - and thought it was a legitimate tactic.

As this appears to be causing offence and considered bad form, we will never do it again. Apologies to those who have been offended.

Actually, I'm in agreement with Droid's suggestion for regressing hunts that have sat idle for a prolonged period. This might encourage other agencies to chase hunts that have already been started.

I feel I have to respond to the accusation that has been directed about Ivory Draigh deliberately blocking hunts. If we do not finish a hunt, it is because we have not been able to get the favour required, and no one has come online overnight who has standings with the contact. We want to finish our hunts as quickly as possible and are ill at ease leaving a hunt unfinished overnight. Some of our players do not play as regularly as others. And believe it or not, some of us work, and go on holiday! In effect, what I am saying is we do not and never will do, block hunts! And TJ, our experience with Trei is what makes uneasy about leaving hunts unfinished. Just because, at the moment, you cannot do what Trei did, I do not think you should make these unfounded accusations.

Since Joesph posted my PMs to him and his also. Where in my PMs did I accuse ???? I asked, he answered I responed and he confirmed what he suggested you can do. That suggestion appeared to have been done. So I ask again where in my PMs did I accuse? Now as far as being unfounded, all one needs to do is observes what was going on and the post up the board.

Now as far as challenging hunts, I have read several posts here agreeing that it is acceptable. Yes I have challenged many in the past and I am sure I will in the future as it is part of the TH.

Challenging a hunt and attempting to manipulate or block a hunt is not the same.

And I am saying TJ that we do not manipulate or block a hunt! So if that is what you think, well, carry on! Not sour grapes because you are not such a strong agency as you were when you were with Trei?

Well now, lets present that facts on what took place just in case some of those out there in SoM land missed it. You know, inquiring minds want to know sort of thing.

First of all, for three days, three agencies took hunt after hunt which is cool if you want to blow out your standings. You all know perfectly well PIC hunt on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Well, Friday comes and 3 hunts all taken. 1 agency was kind enough to finish one so PIC had hunt available to do Saturday morning.

Oh but other two hunts still sitting there. Ok, no problem you have all day to finish hunt. All agents on, all sitting at favors but DANG, none of you get favor to finish. Ok, so here comes TH regeneration time 2 agents from each agency online, sitting at favors, and DANG, can't finish.

OH WAIT NOW, right before game reset, your agents misteriously got the favors needed to close the hunt. GOD WHAT A LUCK BREAK FOR YOU so you could immediately open another hunt.

You were on at game reset, I stayed up 24 hours to watch what you were going to do. RD found out the hard way, you signed off because TJ opened one of the hunts, I jumped RD's and opened other.

Now, first want to say that it was ME AND ONLY ME that jumped RD, others in PIC had no idea what was going on. They just hleped me out when they came on because that is what agencies do.

Now, as for TJ not being able to challenge hunts, think again. As you and your little crowd do, you don't have to be in home agency to challenge a hunt. He was there with me through the whole thing doing what he could. And since we are blatenly coming out with things, RD is the one I was taling about im my earalier post and let me tell you this much, you might have thought that TJ wouldn't have been on but guess what, I AM ALLLLLLL DAY and I watch.

So, this leaves us at a delema. No jumping hunts not bad if done fairly. Having more than one detective you work, no not bad. Blocking hunts, well I use to think it was bad but now I think it is just a sign you put up on your agency door that says "HEY I WANT YOU TO
