I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong - when I go to the Flophouse and try to examine my evidence, it always tells me that I have no evidence to examine. This is after I have gone and collected hair samples, fingerprints, weapons, etc. Is there something else I need to do, like "highlight" them or something?

you need to learn the analysis skills in order for you to analyze the evidence.

like for example, you need hair analysis if you want to analyze the hair evidence you found in the crime scene.
