Judge of Character

I am wondering what other detectives feel about Judge of Character.

I think that if someone tells you that they will answer two questions then they should answer two questions. Not say, I don't know. You can do a JOC and get someone that says that they will answer 2 questions, so you ask them one question and they answer it, then for the next question, they clam up. I am really wondering if JOC is worth it.

The JOC doesn't seem like it is performing its job. I say that if you spend so many valuable skills on JOC, then it should work as stated.

Just my opinion.

the JOC skill stated properly that by using JOC on a suspect, it will tell you where he/she will answer 2 questions on whether which manipulation that you will use on him/her next.

It doesn't seem to work that way though.

It's always worked that way for me, you probably noted it down wrong Cind, I sometimes click 'continue' before I've actually read whether they are influenced more by int or charm.

Is telling you, I really don't know an answer? It might be but it isn't to me.

I have one and it's handy honestly. when I need to get information from a suspect. then it's just keeping notes on whos what too.

Handy Dandy Piano Man.

How do you like these answers:

I wouldn't know where to start. (Too bad I can't say then let me help you out a bit and give them the brass knuckles.) I wanted to say other things but I will keep them to my self.

I haven't talked to her lately. (In the meantime, this person has another name of someone connected hidden in their house.)

I have no idea who they are spending their time with. ( You know that they know better.)

Too bad that Ben doesn't let the detectives buy guns and forget the charm, intimidation, or bribe. OF course the JOC.

Hey, they answered your questions, didn't they? Even if the answer was "I don't know," they still answered you...

No, I'm in agreement with Cinderella here - those shouldn't count as valid 'answers'. Even without the JoC (which I never use, it's useless imo). When I use a charm/intimidation, and it tells me "Success! _____ will answer two questions" - it should be two pieces of recordable information. You get gipped otherwise.

Yeah, I see that side of the arguement, and even agree somewhat, but as far as the game is concerned, they answered. Think of it this way: there are 2 possible outcomes to any question you ask - a favorable answer, or unfavorable. If you don't use Charm or Intimidation, there's only one, and that is "I don't know the answer." At least you know they can't help you, even if it wastes a skill point to find out. I guess that's probably why you can get up to 12 points of each.

I say you are still getting ripped off when you have used JOC and they don't answer give you information needed for all questions that they say they will answer.
